On Sunday in Athlone some of our sprinters took to the track in the Junior and Under 23 National Championships.

In the Junior women 60m sprint, Sarah Millea ran 8.08 in the second heat just missing out on a final berth ⭐️

Hannah Aspell ran in the 1st heat of the Under 23 womens 60m and finished a strong 4th in 8.18 seconds ⭐️

Eoghan McGrath competed in the mens 60m and ran 7.45 in a very competitive event, which saw Israel Olatunde storm to gold in a time of 6.63 ⭐️

In the mens 200m sprint, Shane Kennedy ran in Heat 1 finishing 2nd in a time of 24.08. Eoghan McGrath took on the long jump and jumped 5.88 taking 5th overall ⭐️

In the Junior 200m, Sarah Millea ran in heat 4 taking 2nd place in a time of 25.96, and then took 5th in the final in a time of 27.03, a fabulous achievement for Sarah ⭐️

In the Under 23 womens 200m, Hannah Aspell ran 27.03 in heat 1, and progressed to the final and took 6th place in 27.45, another great performance ⭐️
