Last weekend saw the final round of the League take place in Newbridge, and once again we saw some fantastic performances from the clubs young athletes. We had great results across track and field events taking first place in 600m events as well as sprints and long jump. We have finished in 2nd place in our league behind Kildare AC, which is a strong result considering they had higher numbers competing at each round than Celbridge did. The clubs aim is to continue to retain as many of those younger athletes that we have today, and develop them over the next 12 months to hopefully move back to where I personally feel we belong which is at the top of Kildare athletics. A huge well done to everyone who competed over the 3 dates, and we'll hopefully have a celebratory party at the track soon.
Last weekend also saw 5 of our club athletes run the London Marathon in scorching heat across the water. Well done the below on some fantastic times and once again putting the club on the map.
