Eoin Moore also competed in the u17 shot and came 6th and Barry Walton competed in boys u16 high jump and 200m.

The junior championships also took place with Darragh McGee qualfiing for the 60m final but was just outside the medals. Our relay team was hit by illness and injury and Ronan Power and Eoin Moore stepped up to the mark to make up the team with Paul Brady and Darragh but were unlucky to finish 4th. Aoife Sheehy took part in the junior walk and came 3rd. Well done Aoife.

Sunday also saw our master athletes take part, some for the first time ever in track and field and others, well since they were teenagers! This new section to our club got off to a great start with Kieron Stout winning the 60m sprint and shot putt in a Championship Best performance (CBP), Deirdre Sheehy also won the 60m and the shot putt. Finola Moore won the High Jump, Long jump and was second in the 60m and 200m. Bridget Kirwan also won gold in the 200m. Michael Tynan competed in the 3K and also took the silver medal. Our middle distance coach, Derek McConnon represented his own club Rathfarnham in the walk and took the gold medal in a new CBP. Well done all. A special thanks also to the fan club who cheered on all these master athletes! It was noted and remarked upon by the other competitors.!!

This was a great achievement for all these athletes and a great start to their competition year! So all you parents and over 35’s grab your training shoes and join us!

Posted in Uncategorized | No Comments »

Designed by Luka Cvrk Adapted for Wordpress by Business Broker
Business Broker
