Even ages County Cross Country Results
September 30th, 2008We had a very small turnout for the first championship cross country race in Crookstown last Sunday, but those who did ran exceptionally well and most won medals! We had 5 team medals and 3 individual winners, Niamh O’Connor, 3rd in the u10 race, Jamie Garland 2nd in the girls u16 race and Eoin Moore 2nd in the boys u16 race. Our girls u 10 team picked up the gold medals they were Niamh O’Connor, Elaine Wilson, Dearbhla Shirt, Holly Shanley and Louise Duffy. The girls and boys u12 won the bronze medals, the teams were Sinead O’Connor, Claire Kennedy, Aoife Tynan, and Katie Donalhy. and the boys team was Alan Carroll, Lorcan Everard, Ciaran O’Connor, Luke Commiskey, Christian Keok, and Robert Clarke.
The girls u14 got the silver medals, Christine Campion, Vivian Fleischer, Shauna Minnock and Jessica McHugh while the boys u16 got the gold medals and a perpetual cup. They were Eoin Moore, Dylan Behan, Luke Munroe and Ronan Power. Full list of names will follow shortly.
We also for the first time had a mens intermediate team who got the gold medals. Well done to Martin Kennedy, John Molloy and Michael Tynan, 1,2,& 3 in the race and also Eamon Tynan, Myles Hand and Dave Lawler who were part of the winning team. It was a great turn out lads!
Ann Wilson competed in the ladies intermediate race and came in 3rd. Ann also came 3rd in the Sealed Handicap race! Well done Ann.
A number of athletes competed as individuals and also deserve a mention they were John Clarke, Rian Quinn and Conor Comiskey in the boys u10. Unfortunately just one athlete short to make up a team. Brian Moore ran in the boys u14 and Sinead Lawler in the girls u16 and both did very well. Aiden Moloney and Aoife Sheehy competed in the boys and girls u18 races and also ran well.
Well done to everyone who took part
