Congratulations to Sandra O’Connor, Breda Comiskey, Steffen Fleischer and Shane O’Dea who have completed their level 1 coaching course. This course was run over 4 days. It is great to see the enthusiasm with the coaches and this in turn is passed onto the athletes. We hope to see the benefits of this training over the next months.

Due to injuries and unavailability of athletes we were unable to send the full squad that qualified. However, Karen Gernon did great in her walk and came in 4th place. David Campbell and Paul Brady also competed in the walk and 200m respectively but were outside the medals.
We were only able to field two teams for the relays and due to hard luck in the race our boys u17 just missed out on a place in the final. It was a strange race with people falling and teams being disqualified. However, Bryan Bottrill, David Campbell, Ronan Power and Darrage McGee did very well under the circumstances. Our girls u13 team also just missed out on a place in the final. They were Christine Campion, Shauna Minnock, Laura Smyth and Michelle O’Dea.
