Sandra Lawler won the gold medal and broke the Leinster record for the girls u18 60m Hurdles in Nenagh today. She also won the silver medal in the 200m. Paul Brady won the bronze medal in the boys u17 60m Hurdles and Philip Dunne won the bronze medal in the boys u17 1,500m. Brian Bottrill in his first competition got 4th place in the boys u16 High Jump.  John Molloy competing in the masters got first place in the 60m, 200m and Long Jump.  Congratulations to all athletes who competed and good luck in the All Irelands in March!

Awards Night

Our annual awards night will be held in the GAA Centre on Saturday, 10th February at 8.00 p.m. We will have the presentations followed by a disco. All athletes and their families are invited. Hope to see you all there on the night!

AGM

Our AGM will be held in the upstairs room in the GAA Centre on Tuesday, 13th February, 2007 at 8.30p.m.  It is very important that we have a good turn out.  Any motions to be discussed or nominations for positions on the committee should be forwarded to The Secretary, Finola Moore before 6th February.

As most of the years athletic meetings have not been given dates yet, I have revised the fixtures table for 2007 with all the information available to me.  This will be updated as and when the information is provided to me.

Nenagh 2007

The Leinster Indoor championships will take place in Nenagh over three days. Day 1 is for u16 and up, this is on Sunday 28th January. Day 2 and Day 3 ( March, 3rd and 4th) is for athletes age u12 and up. Will all athletes intending to compete make sure you give your name and the events you want to do to your coach ASAP. NOTE:  All athletes must wear club singlet and shorts and don’t forget to change spikes to 5mm

AAI Masters Indoor Championships

John Molloy competed for Celbridge in the All Ireland Masters competition in Nenagh last Saturday. He got 1st place in the V4 mens 200m and 3rd place in the 60m. Well done John. Click here for results

Scottish Indoor Championships

Sandra Lawler has been selected to represent Leinster in Scotland at the Scottish Indoor Championships in March.  Sandra will compete in the 60m and also the 60m hurdles.

Athlete of The Year

Aiden Maloney has been awarded best juvenile male athlete in Co. Kildare for 2006. Sandra Lawler was awarded best juvenile female athlete for Kildare at Leinster. Sandra was presented with her award in Carlow recently.

GOLF CLASSIC

We are holding a Golf Classic on Friday 20th April, 2007 at the Castlewarden Golf Course. The format is 4 person team. Cost is E400 per team (which includes dinner).

Even if you don’t play golf perhaps you could sponsor a tee box for E100 or you could sponsor a prize.
