Our last training session before Christmas will be Tuesday, 19th December at Salesian College. We resume training after Christmas on Tuesday, 9th January.

The uneven ages cross country is taking place on Saturday next 9th December in Athlone IT. The girls u11 race will be the first race of the day starting at 12.00. In this race we have Shauna Minnock, Christine Campion and Chanice Corcoran taking part. In the girls u13 race, Kellie Newman and Ciara Delaney will take part. These athletes will gain valuable experience in these races and will get to wear the new Co. Kildare singlets as they will be representing both their club and county. Good Luck girls.

Last Tuesday night our Treasurer (Geraldine) was speechless when Shauna Minnock Presented her with a bag containing 600 euro. This was as a result of a 5000m sponsored walk she did. Earlier in the year she asked permission to do the walk in aid of the club as our own walk had to be cancelled due to the Ryder Cup, and of course we thought no more about it. Even though Shauna is only u11 she remains one of our biggest fundraisers every year. Many thanks Shauna and keep up the good work.

A big thank you to all athletes and parents who helped out at our recent bag packing. We raised about 1200 euro. I would just like to single out a few athletes for special mention, Tarin, Grace and Kellie Newman who did five hours bag packing on the Saturday. Also to Aisling O’Hallorhan, Lisamarie Raynor and Ciaran Larkin who insisted they were having so much fun they bag packed for the whole day Saturday. This sort of enthusiasm is exactly what we need in our club. Well done everyone!

Our club was very well represented at the recent all ireland cross country in Waterford. Vivian Fleischer and Shauna Minnock ran extremely well in the girls u12 race wearing the new Co. singlet while Caoimhe McCormack and Kellie Newman running out of their age group did very well in a very large field (about 200). Although no medals were won it was a fantastic experience to take part in such an event and they did their club and county proud. Results are not in at the moment but will be posted as soon as we get them.
